IN SHORT
Plenty to look forward to… • Busy, busy, busy… that would be the best way to describe the next 12 months in terms of vehicle launches. The year has already kicked off with a bang, and in the coming months just about every manufacturer will be bringing something to market, whether it be an upgrade, a facelift or a completely new model. The great escape • Each December, when all the other ‘Vaalies’ head to the coast, Liana Reiners and her family head for the hills of Mpumalanga to enjoy four of their favourite pastimes: relaxing, fishing, sightseeing and catching up with old friends. There’s usually also a lot of eating involved. For such a trip a great vehicle is a must, and the Hyundai Creta fits the bill perfectly.

A ‘Mata’ of taste • A few years ago, South African traveller, photographer and foodie, Maricha van Heerden and her husband Butch, traded their old life for adventure, and now they spend their time exploring and experiencing all this continent has to offer with their customised camper, The Honey Badger.

Boys will be boys! • Sometimes, a man must leave the city’s hustle and bustle behind, gather a few mates and head out on an adventure. Henry Jonker and a few good friends – calling themselves the Kamp Kommando – try to fit a boys’ weekend into their busy schedules whenever possible.
Travel Guide • The Overberg district offers various beautiful routes and interesting pit-stops to have a bite to eat. The Kamp Kommando’s favourite stops...
