MAKING HEADLINES

X marks the spot • The Wildtrak X is the latest addition to Ford’s Ranger line-up. Featuring a host of new trail-ready technologies and equipment, LIANA REINERS explains why it can make your dreams of adventure come true.

Looking back in time • Our regular readers should, by now, be well acquainted with the ‘Bush Run’ gang. This group of Land Rover owners have two things in common: an obsession with the brand and a sense of adventure like few others we know! Most recently, they took off on an adventure to explore the area around Machadodorp. NICO DENNER shares the experience.

More about Bush Run • A group of adventurous Land Rover owners and enthusiasts regularly undertake Bush Runs to explore the rugged terrain and beauty our country has to offer. All funds raised are donated to organisations that care for the less fortunate. Contact Nico Denner on +27 83 653 0864 for further information or visit the group’s Facebook page: Land Rover Bush Run.

Take memories, leave only footprints • A place of big skies and open pastureland, the Free State is the near-perfect road trip destination. Broad horizons are interrupted only briefly by a smattering of small towns and villages, ideal to pop in for mementos or local delicacies from the many farm stalls. MARY WILLEMSE and her girls recently headed to the cherry capital of South Africa, Ficksburg and Clocolan.
