Even Death has enemies...
When Jarko uses dark magic to try and imprison Death, he sets in motion events that will change Lyra's life forever, and draws the wrath of the Ferryman, a dark creature who threatens his soul. As he hunts for Death, trying to figure out what went wrong with his plan, he's thrown into the middle of something he never saw coming.
Lyra sets out on a journey to save her mother, but instead ends up mentoring Crispin, and fighting for her life from Jarko and the Ferryman, all while trying to figure out what happened to her father. As her past catches up to her, she'll have to make the hardest decision of her life.
Crispin has searched for answers about his curse for twelve years with nothing to show for it but bad memories, only one friend, and no love life. Just when he finds Lyra, who he believes can help him, he's thrust into a world of unnatural beings he never could have imagined existed, and a fight for his life ensues.
Will they each find what they're looking for? Or will death, literally, find them?
