Ford Madox Ford drew upon his experiences in World War I to pen his epic classic Parade's End, which was originally published as four separate novels between 1924 and 1928. The story stars affluent Christopher Tietjens, a brilliant statistician serving in the British Army, and chronicles his experiences on the front lines in Belgium and France.
